GRC Blog

Welcome to the GRC Recorders pages. This blog provides details on all the relevant news of Glamorgan’s scarcer birds, plus all BBRC & WRP decisions that affect us locally. It will also be used to document the status and occurrence of these scarcer species and we welcome contributions from anyone with photographs, artwork or documentation of rarities past, present and future. The GRC also welcomes all seawatching news from around Glamorgan and news of passage migrants in spring & autumn, uncommon birds in our area and unusual behaviour.

All visitors are welcome. You must first register by sending an email to GlamRC@gmail.com before you can contribute. An invite will be sent to your email address. Blog content will be strictly moderated. Access to pages and downloads are available to everyone. All photographs on this blog remain the property of the originator.
If you would like to use photos, please arrange permission beforehand.

The Glamorgan Rarities Committee, in conjunction with the Glamorgan Bird Club & Gower Wildlife , have agreed to co-operate with the Welsh Ornithological Society in the sharing of bird records & photographs in the interest of keeping accurate records and to promote birdwatching in North, Mid & South Wales.

Photographs for the next (2015) Annual Bird Report

Before 'Photographer' Members file away their bird photos for last year please be aware that I am collecting high quality pictures taken in Eastern Glamorgan in 2015 for possible inclusion in the 2015 EASTERN GLAMORGAN Annual Bird Report to be published later in 2016.
I will try, as usual, to include some of the work of all who submit photos of Rare Birds, Uncommon Birds and exceptional photos of common birds etc. Preference will be given to rare and uncommon species and photographs of those commoner ones that have NOT featured in the last few bird reports.
Please send on CD via mail to R.G SMITH 35 Manor Chase, Beddau, Pontypridd CF382JD. OR you can send via www.wetransfer.com to rgsmith@birdpix.freeserve.co.uk - this is an excellent service for transfer of large files and is free!!! If sending just a few then email will be fine.
Looking forward to receiving lots of great shots - any queries please call or text or message on 01443 205816.
Thank you.
